Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!! I know, I'm a little late.

I hope your day was more exciting then mine. I got to spend the day selling Girl Scout cookies with my daughter. Fun times.

In honor of Valentine's day, my least favorite holiday, I thought I'd share a teaser from Off Limits (unedited).

Skyla's POV

Big warm arms wrapped around me. I started to tense then looked down at the bulky arms engulfing me to find fully inked, colorful skin ending in giant hands. Even if I had suspected someone else those arms were a dead give away.

I took a deep breath and sighed as I leaned back into his wide, strong chest.

Once his ink had sent me running but now they made me feel warm and safe. They were just Jonas. I was starting to see a flaw in my beliefs. His tattooed arms were just a part of Jonas. They didn’t define him. He really was just like a giant teddy bear. He didn’t have all those evil personality traits I associated with his look. He looked rough and hard on the outside but he was really anything but. I was starting to come to terms with his tattoos, overlook them even, although, they still made me nervous.

Jonas rested his chin on the top of my head as he held me. I snuggled into him. “Are you having a good time?” he asked quietly.

“Yeah.” I turned and smiled up at him. I was. I really was. I needed this and there was no one I would rather spend the day with and that scared me.

“Good,” he said flashing me his giant, toothy smile. “Me too,” he said. His eye met mine. They were happy, carefree, and content with just an edge of desire to them. His tongue darted out and licked his lips as his eyes darted to mine. He started to lower his head closing the distance between our lips...

So far behind...

So, I wanted to get Off Limits (Jonas and Skyla's story) out in the spring but that clearly didn't happen. I was hoping for this month but I don't think that's going to happen either. Now, I'm hoping to get it out by the end of the year. Finger crossed. Sadly... that pushes back Talon's story. I wanted that out this fall. I'm way behind. I've gotten distracted writing a story for Arabella, Lincoln and Pru's daughter.

Apparently, I'm no good at deadlines (even self imposed ones).

Off Limits Teaser

Here is a little teaser from Jonas and Skyla's story.  Beware, it's unedited.

Skyla POV

“Sky,” he half sighed, half questioned.

I froze. A damn deer trapped in headlights. The headlights being Jonas’s sparkly eyes. I didn’t know what to say, what to do. I wanted this but shouldn’t. I wanted him to kiss me.

His free hand grabbed my hip loosely and started to pull me closer. I should turn away or leave. I needed to stop this right now. I’d regret it later. His hold on me was so loose that if I pulled away I could have slid right out but I didn’t. No matter how much I knew I should I didn’t. I couldn’t find an ounce of strength to move away from him.

His other hand went around the back of my neck and his head started to lower towards mine. Holy Crap! Was this really happening? Yes. Yes it was. Jonas’s lips were approaching mine. Incoming!

It was like everything was moving in slow motion. Jonas eyelids started to lower but his eyes never released mine. His lips parted just slightly as they slowly came closer and closer to mine. My entire body went weak as I unconsciously leaned into him, letting him support the majority of my weight. Jonas groaned softly as I melted against him. My head fell back giving him a better angle for his lips to meet mine. They were so close, almost there...
